Are only men movie stars?
You do raise a valid point. So hopefully you will accept a belated list of actresses
Maureen O'Hara
Lucille Ball
Ella Raines
Angelina Jolie
Phylis Diller
Dorothy Lamour
Gail Russell
Paulette Goddard
Trying to think of actresses is much harder than I thought it would be. Very few actresses have the iconic status that many of their male cohorts achieve so easily by comparison.
In a little while I am going to post my top 3 or 5 movies for each actor on my list, cause I think that would open things up for discussion.
Are only men movie stars?
Of course gals and boys.
I didn't specify as I thought the term Movie Stars would suffice.
In modern times it's very hard to find female movie stars. They don't make movies for women any more.
May, they don't make any modern movies for men either. If you discount the comic book sludge (and I do) there's precious little out there to draw me into a theater. Of course, if you look at my list of male star dinosaurs, only Bruce Dern is still above ground, so I really am a fan of the past with not much to look forward to.
This is painful and embarrassing for me to admit, but in my 60 - very - odd years, I don't recall ever deciding to see a theatrical movie because of a female star. I adore Kim Novak, Janet Leigh, Jo Beth Williams, Marilyn Monroe, Angie Dickinson, Catherine Deneuve, Goldie Hawn and many more, but I'm just not wired to call up a friend and ask if he wants to come over, split some beers and watch a Jennifer Aniston movie.
I am prepared for the onslaught.
We deal in lead, friend.

i totally agree with you,i have no interest in modern film,we have overrated actors who just cant act to save their lives.there only half dozen good actors around like costner, eastwood, gibson, russell, samuel l jackson.the last time i was at the cinema was to see true grit,i would'nt be bothered to go to the cinema unless it was a good western.i wouldnt waste my money on anything else
