    Just came across this thread and I too had always wondered why he had a limp in some of his movies.

    I'll also hafta go back and watch two fisted law as I don't remember seeing him in it.

  • Well, since we are reviving this old topic, Walter Brennan's limp was a signature of his characters in the movies. He didn't limp in every movie, but he also played an older man, when in fact he was younger than most of the leading stars. He had a mature or old man look about himself. And he used it.

  • Brennan was superb in The Westerner where he acted Gary Cooper off the screen. I recently saw him in To Have and Have Not which is still quite a good film, though clearly patterned after Casablanca.
