I love Hatari! It's almost the perfect movie. For me watching is like a mental vacation. The only thing I'd change is Red Buttons. I tried to imagine who from that time would have been a better replacement and I came up with Bob Denver. That would have been pre-Gilligan. Any thoughts?

The great thing about John Wayne's many, many films over a legendary career is that we have so many different choices as which we love and those we don't. Hatari, while enjoyable to watch, was never very high on my list. I know I may be in the minority, but it never did grab me. From what I remember about Button's character, I didn't feel he was wrong for it. It has been a while since I last watched the film, so I'm working on memory. But I don't think it would be a stretch to see Bob Denver playing the role. Does anyone else have any input on this?

Who’s the girl in the hat with the John Wayne tshirt?

I think I remember reading that Duke sponsored little league teams, so maybe she is somehow connected to that. Her shirt looks to read, "John Wayne Mascot".
