I watched Enemy at the Gates a few days ago, Ringo. A very good movie. Better then I thought it would be.

Hi Mark, I agree with you. Enemy at the Gates had what I expected for the film. I belong to a Mil History site and most people there, tear that movie apart because they expected more of a conventional war movie, instead of a fictional sniper duel. ;-)) I wonder what AMC and TCM have on tonight? If nothing appealing, theen I guess I will watch Out Cold or something like that? ;-))

"War Games" the other evening on TCM. Still stands up well after over 20 years.

3000 miles to Graceland. Quite a violent Elvis movie LOL. Actually it is a heist movie with Kurt Russell and Kevin Costner. Loved the ending for Costner!!!

I watched "In Harm's Way" while I was away. As well as many other movie's. Eastern Promises, Casino Royale(2006 version), Blade Runner(HD DVD special ed.), Indy 3(Last Crusade), and The Dirty Dozen.

Watched one of my most favorite Clint Eastwood movie, "Kelly's Heroes". Had a great cast and loved the Tigers in the movie, they were very accurate for the most part, as well.

We Own The Night with Mark Wahlberg, Robert Duvall and Joaquin Phoenix. Not bad at all. Cops and Russian crime family. Who could ask for more.

I didn't like Joaquin Phoenix when he first came out, but he has grown on me.

Watched Houseboat with Cary Grant and Sophia Loran. First time I seen this movie. It was on TCM. I liked it alright, but like other Grant movies better than this one.

The Quiet Man with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. It was on TCM and great to watch. This is the 31 days of Oscars, and today it is showing movies from the 50's.

I saw him in 8MM and wasn't swayed either way, but when I saw him in Gladiator the first time...I didn't like him. His part was creepy. After seeing the movie a few more times (I like it), I understood the roll better and then appreciated how he played it. Signs was a good roll for him and I like him better each time I see him. Walk the Line was great. So, I now look foward to seeing him. The emotions he is feeling show without him having to speak. I like that in an actor.

"Deja vu" with Denzel Washington. I'm an old fan of science fiction and have read many time travel or related plots, but the ending here was lacking in logic of any theories that I have run across before. Good production values and all that, but the ending had no logical extension.

I agree, Joaquin should have won the Oscar for his role as Johnny Cash in "Walk the Line". I have a autographed photo of him in the movie during the Folsom Prison scene, sits down in our home theater room in the basement.

Watched Roman Holiday with Gregory Peck and Audry Hepburn for the first time. It was a good movie. They play good together. Wish Duke did a movie or two with them.

I've been watching Season 5 of the "Rockford Files" for the past 2 or 3 days.

"Miami Vice" (TV version) and "Rockford Files" were two of my favorite cop shows in the Seventies and Eighties. So far, I've bought all of "Miami Vice" and just have one more season (consisting of less than the normal 22 episodes) to go for "Rockford Files". I must say that the quality (plot-wise) of the later episodes show some serious deterioration but I wanted the complete sets so guess I'll have to live with it.

It's funny but two of my favorite characters in both shows are the less-than-admirable scam artists Izzy in "Miami Vice" and Angel in "Rockford Files". I got a lot of laughs out of those two trying to get over on Sonny in Vice and Jim in Rockford.

The last film I watched was Grand Champion.
Nice film, about a boy who is not the richest or has the flashiest equipment, but still goes out and wins Grand Champion Steer at the biggest show in Texas, sorta reminded me of when I started showing.

Oh and George Strait had a cameo in it, which was actually the reason I decided to watch it He did the hokey pokey And I'll be danged if it wasn't the sexiest hokey pokey I've ever seen
