This movie inspired me to learn how to shoot ambidextrously. Almost every time I have 2 single action revolvers at the range with me, I re-enact the scene down by the river. Engaged steel targets yesterday and went 11/11 (one Ruger that can safely hold six and a traditional SAA clone that can only hold 5). Going to watch it with the wife (at HER request) later this evening.

Good Movie, I just watched it again. I like it, I liked Dean Martin in John Wayne movies.
There are many good actors here. Some more are Earl Holiman & George Kennedy. -

It never ceases to amaze me how seamless Dean Martin fits into this film. I think this movie speaks as much to his strengths as an actor as it does the Duke. The whole film is just a wonderful who's-who all-star cast.

One of my favorites. I really enjoy how confused Dean's character is after this scene when Duke bluffs the villain about the family playing Blackjack together.

Watching this on the Movies! Channel right now. Also, True Grit is coming on next.

The music is wonderful too!

I have always loved the line Duke uses at Katie's grave, to the Sheriff, " You've been trying real hard not to tell me something, Billy"
