  • I never said I would like to see Costner in the Indy 4 film. I just said that I like him. And that I thought as long as he was in certain movies he is good. He has made some bad films. But I think that there isn't an actor out there who hasn't made atleast 1 flop. Costner in a western, to me, has always been very good.

Hi Todd, I know you had not said that he was going to be in Indy 4 but, at least for me, I don't think he could be in that franchise with Ford being that I don't know if he could "pull it off" being that were more used to Ford & Ford and Connery ;-))

I agree with also that it might be interesting to see Bruce Willis in Indy 4. He's a good actor and needs to be utilized.

  • Bruce Willis would have the right attitude but I think they need somebody younger.

Can you imagine if they had let Tom Selleck do Raiders as planned except Magnum PI producers wouldn't release him and Ford got the role.

Funny thing with that is I bet if he was Indy they would have made 4 already and been well on there way to 5 or 6 since Tom seems to not be doing much right now. He also looks/is allot younger then Harrison is right now.

  • I think if Tom had done Raiders of the Lost ark that would have been it. There wouldnt have been Temple of Doom or Last Crusade or 4.

Remember High Road to China or Howard the Duck in case of Lucas.

Has anyone ever seen Howard. I think it made in to VCR in the USA but Lucas has been privately burning every copy since then.

You never see clips of it at the AFI Tributes? Wonder why:hyper:

  • I certainly cannot picture anyone but Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones. Of course, the filmmakers have waited for all these years for a good script, so I figure this effort will be the last for the character (but then we really didn't expect another one after "The Last Crusade.").

  • I, for one, look forward to Indiana Jones 4 and I think Harrison Ford is the right man for the job. I always feel it's tacky to change over from one leading star to another (the James Bond series is a good example), unless, of course, an actor has died and there is a real demand to keep something going. Even then, those are sometimes difficult shoes to fill. However, I think the Superman Returns movie is a good example of finding another actor who did an excellent job of replacing the original star. The interesting part of this movie is that all the stars are in place to continue the series.

  • Hi Chester

The thing about Superman Returns is that there was a good amount of space between the Last Christopher Reeve film and that one.

If Indy 4 does get made and is a success I cant see Ford doing another one in a few years.

I fully agree with you on James Bond it is totally played out. Even the best movies which tend to be the first in the actor's run.

Goldeneye for Brosnan and Casino Royale for Craig are like eye candy. Nice at the time but instantly forgettable.

I take it Steve Martin will not be doing a sequel to Pink Panther it was woeful!!!

  • Wow!! Not to go off on a tangent but I must be the odd duck in this crowd. First Costner, now Bond. Sure, there are a couple Bond movie's that are not very good, but for the most part they are all good action movies and you know exactely what you are going to get each time you walk into a theater and sit down. And now with the latest Bond I think they have done a excellent job of "remaking" the Bond image. My wife and I both love the Bond films.

  • I found this quote on the internet concerning Connery and Indy 4.

    Quote

"I am resting from acting - you might say I'm retired. It would take something really considerable to bring me back. Nothing has been discussed but I hear it's back on." - On Indiana Jones 4 (2008)

  • Along with Todd and Jay, I too like the Bond films (most of them) and grew up watching them whenever shown on TV and saw a few at the theater. I think I might have 3-4 on DvD. Just not high on the priority list yet. Have not seen the new Bond but will do so sometime soon.

  • I must admit I like Bond too particularly Connery & Moore but from Living Daylights Timothy Dalton onwards they have shown signs of running out of steam withe the exception of Goldeneye and Casino Royale.

My favourite Bond would be wait for it On Her Majesty's Secret Service which despite Lazenby's greenness in acting at least pushed the story in a different direction from the other Bonds.

The other favourites would be Goldfinger which in my mind peaked the Connery series and for Moore (being a child of the seventies LOL) would be Live and Let Die again the first in a series were the producers made more of an effort.

  • I know its kinda corny but, I always favored "Moonraker" with Roger Moore as my favorite bond film. Not sure which is my favorite Connery "Bond" film, probably: "From Russia With Love." Favorite Brosnan "Bond" film is probably: "Goldeneye or The World Is Not Enough."
