  • "Moonraker" is a good Moore Bond film as well as "For Your Eye's Only". For Connery I liked "You Only Live Twice" and "Goldfinger". Brosnan, I liked "Goldeneye", "The World Is Not Enough" and "Die Another Day". I actually liked Brosnan better then Moore and Daniel Craig I think is going to be a good Bond, I was not sure when they made the announcement but after seeing "Casino Royale" I am sold.

  • Always like For Your Eyes Only as it had a good strong story. I wasnt that fussed on Moonraker as I thought it was chasing the Star Wars money.

Thought View to a Kill wasn't bad either as Christopher Walken and Grace Jones and Patrick Magnee gave good support but Moore was showing his age by that time.

  • Hi all,

I have all the Bond movies on DVD, and I make
a point of seeing them when they are in the cinema.
Apart from George Lazenby, who was as wooden
as the box he carried in the TV add before getting
the part, all the actors who have played the
"shaken not stirred" hero, have done a great job.

    Emmanuel.

    Emmanuel.

I'll try one of those black beers....THE QUIET MAN.

  • I have to agree with Emmanuel on all the Bond actors doing a good job as that character. The only Bond film I did not enjoy was: A View To A Kill. I liked the actors but, somehting really seemed to be missing from that movie' and I cannot lay a finger to it.

Still have not seen the newest Bond film yet but intend to do so.

  • Hi Todd, and thanks. I think I will rent it this week (have something worthwhile to watch while it is cold outside) ;-))

Oh and slightly off-topic but, here is another film you might want to watch out for that is a great film but not yet on DvD: Fixed Bayonets w/ Richard Basehart. That is an excellent war movie about the Korean War -- which I think takes place at the 'Chosin Resevoir' (Frozen Chosin) if im not mistaken.

Carl, you cannot get Casino Royale with Daniel Craig yet, expected street date is 3/13.

Thanks for the heads up as I really enjoyed him in "Decision Before Dawn".

Quite welcome Todd and thanks for the info on the new Bond film. By the way, please do watch: "He Walked By Night" as Richard Basehart did an excellent job in that film as well. Also, if interested? Richard Basehart was also in a little known or shown film about being a POW during the Korean War and also being Courtsmartialed afterwords, which is called: Time Limit. This film was made, produced and starred in by: Richard Widmark. This film is another excellent film. Currently it is not available on anything but if ever so, I recomend this film as much as Decision Before Dawn, He Walked By Night and Fixed Bayonets.

Oh and if anyone here has a Dollar General store near their home, you might be interested to know that they have a DvD for sale at $5.00, which was done by Hallmark Channel. The movie is a decent one called: The Colt. It takes place during the U.S. Civil War.

    Best regards-_Carl.

The first picture from the set of Indiana Jones has been released, as filming on the fourth adventure begins.
Shot by director Steven Spielberg, the photo shows star Harrison Ford wearing his character's trademark fedora hat for the first time in 18 years.
The original Indiana Jones trilogy, a tribute to Saturday morning B-movies, made more than $1.1bn (£560m) at the box office in the 1980s.
The fourth film, co-starring John Hurt, is due for release on 22 May 2008.
Other names lined up for the action blockbuster include Cate Blanchett, Ray Winstone, Jim Broadbent and Shia LeBeouf, who is rumoured to be playing Indiana's son.
Little else is known about the film - not even its title - but it will be set in the 1950s.
    'Back in business'
The franchise began in 1981 with Raiders of the Lost Ark, in which archaeologist Jones raced around the world to find the Ark of the Covenant before it fell into the hands of the Nazis.
Rumours of a fourth chapter in the saga circulated for several years, before the film was finally announced in December 2006.
"I'm delighted to be back in business with my old friends," said Harrison Ford earlier this year. "I don't know if the pants still fit, but I know the hat will." Producers LucasFilm recently announced that Sir Sean Connery - who played Indiana Jones' bookish father in the franchise's third instalment - would not reprise his role in the new film. Filming is expected to continue for the rest of the summer before moving to the post-production phase.

Right - "Temple of Doom" was the least of the three, but still outdoes many flicks on a comparitive scale.
