All I can say Stumpy is hehehehehehehehehehehe!!
These politicians are going to ruin not only this country but the world with there lies and deceit. I wish more people would wake up and start voting with there heads instead of there hearts all the time.

Hate to say this, Todd, but it is my lifelong and unequivocal opinion that 98.9 percent of Democrats always vote with their emotions instead of reasoning. -
Saw a report last night comparing the arctic ice of last summer with this summer. The report showed that though the ice receded considerably last year, this year more ice has remained for the current summer!
I have not subscribed Al Gore's so-called "facts!???" of "An Inconvenient Truth!"

I loved her version of "You Belong to Me".

Great song by Jo but my personal favorites were "Jambalaya", "Shrimp Boats" and "Candy".
But heck, she sang literally dozens of great songs back then. They don't make 'em like Jo any more, unfortunately. How I miss people like her, Doris Day, Judy Garland, Patti Page, Rosemary Clooney, Kay Starr, Kitty Kallen, Helen O'Connell, Ella Firzgerald, Nat King Cole, Sinatra, Dean Martin, Johnny Mercer, Dick Haymes, and the great bands that backed 'em up like the Dorsey brothers, Glenn Miller and so forth and so on.
IMO, most of the so-called music nowadays is a very bad joke. -

Two of these guys represent our area - Ciro Rodriguez (a political hack) and Henry Cuellar (not much better). Like you say, Stumpy, close, but no cigar!

I really don't care what country you are from the so called
leaders do not have a clue what its like to live from day to
day trying to make ends meet and survive. They believe that
they are of the elite and because of that they deserve to be treated in a royal way. I don't know what we are going to do during this coming winter
as regard fuel. I am retired and disabled an rest assured they could care less about myself and many of other disabled veterans. I cannot understand why we cater to all the ILLEGAL ALIENS and in many ways not
take care of our own. I want to do what Mcclintot did in that movie.
Sock them all and knock them into a mud hole! -

Far as I'm concerned, there ain't an SOB in this country, of whatever station, who's better than I am. And that especially includes the Big Dogs in DC. They can thank their lucky stars that I'll never be running things or they'd all be in deep, deep kimchee. -
Hi Stumpy
I hope you did not misunderstand part of my post.
I meant that they THINK that the are of the elite and deserve to be treated in a grand way. I TOTALLY argree with you.
They all stink! No matter what party they come from.
They discust me!

No, I didn't misunderstand you, Dan. We're in total agreement regarding our mutual low opinion of the so-called "elite". -

I'm hoping one of these day, one of those cars with a boom box playing loud will loosen the rivets and bolts and the car will just collapse.

All of my life, I've had a sentimentality and tenderheartedness toward little girls that borders on the maudlin. Every time I see someone such as the little darlin' pictured above, I just want to snatch 'em up and hug 'em. (and yeah, I know that nowadays if you do that, they'll throw you in jail as a suspected child abuser. But with me, nothing could be further from the truth.) To me, it's just incomprehensible that anyone would harm something so sweet looking. I know I wish I could be on every jury that considers punishment for people like that - they'd be in deep doodoo. -
I hope they throw this pork-barrelin' sonuvagun under the jailhouse. It's people like him (and his president) who have done so much damage to the Republican "brand" that we face the very real possibility of a government dominated completely by socialists......er, Dummicrats. And if that happens, I foresee the very real possibility that this country is not long for this world.

Uh oh, looks like someone goosed 'er again. -

I must confess that I really enjoy your posts even if I don't always reply to them. You remind me of a friend of mine whos political leanings would be a little different to your own.

It's funny how as we age, our interests change.
As a high school student, I participated in every sport offered, from football to track. (and to brag a little, was pretty good in all of 'em.)
Up until 30 or 40 years ago, I was absolutely fanatical about every kind of sport you can name. I watched college football all day Saturday and professional football all day Sunday. And I never, ever missed a telecast of the Olympic Games. In fact, one of the highlights of my entire life was being able to attend the 1972 Olympics in Munich, Germany with my family. (I was a GI stationed in Stuttgart then.) And even though those particular Games were tragically marred by the attack of Arab terrorists on Israeli athletes, it was still a great thrill being there and something to remember all my life. In my off-duty hours at Stuttgart, I played shortstop on the headquarters softball team.
Nowadays, I could care less about what happens in the world of sports. Oh, I still watch my beloved Sooners when they play on TV and on weekends, I watch the occasional golf tournament (I was pulling for 53-year-old Greg Norman to win this year's British Open). Otherwise, blaaaahhhh, who cares?
