Excluding John Wayne and the actors/actresses he was with. By the way, IYOP in the thread title means: In Your Own Opinion.
Mine are:
Charlton Heston & Brian Keith.

Wiiliam Boyd and Gabby Hayes(Hopalong and Windy)

Roy Rogers and Gabby Hayes
Howdy All,
I'd have to say James Stewart and Henry Fonda. I loved The Cheyenne Social Club, Firecreek.
I'd also have to add:
Hopalong Cassidy & Gabby Hayes
Guy Madison & Andy Devine (Wild Bill Hickok & Jingles)
Best,
Colorado Bob
Duncan Renaldo "The Cisco Kid"
Leo Carrillo "Pancho"
I know it's TV but they had a 6 season run...
Hi
Al 'Fuzzy' St John who worked with Jack Randall and Bob Steele

are second only to Duke and Gabby, IMHO.
Chester
Don't forget Roy Rogers and Pat Brady on the TV series.
Cheers - Jay
It has to be Clayton Moore and Jay Silverhills - The Lone Ranger and Tonto!
Let's not forget the best partnership
of all time

Lullaby Joslin and Elmer
Errol Flynn and Alan Hale
Great choices all. I almost went for Errol Flynn and Alan Hale and could have just as easily had gone for Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels. I like all posted as well as many others not posted such as: Rar "Crash" Corrigan and Max Terhune, Larry "Buster" Crabbe and Al St. John; etc.
P.S. VERY glad to see another vote for Charlton Heston. Mr. Heston will never cease being a favorite of mine.
Ringo, are you talking a duo who was in 1 movie or several?
Just trying to clarify as I have several from the 1 time film together.

Hi Todd, its up to you to choose what criteria for choosing a duo. I think Heston and Keith were only in two films together-both being westerns :-)) I also thought of using Gary Cooper and Ward Bond and I think they only did one film together which was: The Unconquored. I absolutely love that film and think it was one of Cooper, and Bond's best films ever.
Paul Newman and Robert Redford.
George Clooney & Brad Pitt.
william powell and myrna loy the thin man series. a great team to watch.
also spencer tracey and katharine hepburn.
What about James Arness and Ken Curtis (as well as Dennis Weaver) in Gunsmoke?
Good un, GT. And here's another: Harry Carey Sr and Hoot Gibson. I know they did at least two Westerns together.
While it's on my mind, how about Terence Hill and Bud Spencer, or, Tim Conway and Don Knotts perhaps?
