  • How many of you have been attending the tea parties around the country and are any one going to attend the big party in DC next Saturday (September 12)?

    Cheers

Thirty years ago, I would not only have attended but probably would have had a hand in organizing the thing. But now........I've washed my hands of politics and politicians (except for giving them hell in this thread.)

    De gustibus non est disputandum

  • I agree with this article except for one thing and that's his far too frequent use of the word "elite" (which, BTW, has become a "buzzword" among media types nowadays).

Elite suggests that there's a class of people in this country who are somehow better than everyone else and I reject that notion ten thousand percent. Far as I'm concerned, there ain't a single person in this world who's better than I am. Oh, there are many who are richer, and smarter, better looking and harder working, or whatever. But better......NEVER.

    De gustibus non est disputandum

  • Stumpy,

From a positive standpoint, the more these folks like to categorize themselves as 'elite' the more it tends to irritate the average American, and that's what's needed, average Americans becoming irritated.

    Chester :newyear:

Good point, Jim, I never thought of that.

In reading about things being said in those town hall meetings, I'm beginning to think that large numbers of Americans are extremely irritated at the so-called "elites".

    De gustibus non est disputandum

  • I sense a reprise of 1994 coming, thank goodness.

I have to agree with Stumpy. I'm predicting a big loss for the Democrats just like they did in 1994. The Democrats kicked out the moderates, independents, and ex-Republicans who helped them win in 2008. Then they turned around and alienated the Christians and are relying, wholly, upon support from the far-left. They felt that they had a mandate to rule as they want to but now are finding themselves surprised to see resistance (and not all from the Republican side; God bless Libertarians and Blue-Dog Democrats) to their socialist agenda.

Although I would like to see an end to the Obamanistas, I am not sure it will happen. The reason I say this is, during the election when he was supposedly elected into office, my wife and I watched the returns coming in, and although the news banner running across the bottom of the screen clearly stated that ballots had not been completely counted in several states, and in many areas of the country the polls were still open, BHO was still winning these states! How can that be if the polls were still open and the ballots had not yet been counted?

In addition to this, I clearly remember a news report that stated that an election worker was found with boxes of uncounted ballots in the trunk of her car, after the election. (and apparently election fraud will continue, with the helps of BHO and groups like ACORN, a communist group with a history of "fixing" elections, that BHO is affiliated with. Check out:
    http://spectator.org/archives/2009/01/27/acorns-stimulus

Also, there is the issue of the so-called "Super Delegates" which were implemented when it looked like Hilary would win the nomination (which I believe she did win the popular vote), and these "Super Delegates" then usurped the people and voted as they were told by the DNC - for BHO. (disclaimer: I don't think Hilary would have been much better than BHO, and I wouldn't have voted for her)

I have to wonder, in light of all this, plus the fact that BHO was born in Kenya (as attested to by the Kenyan Ambassador), and not even eligible to hold the office of President, if the libs didn't somehow rig the election. And if they did it once, they can and will do it again.

Additionally, I personally believe that BHO and his socialist lapdogs are priming this country for its downfall and takeover by socialists. Case in point, I have read that BATF agents have been questioning American citizens who own guns, and who live along the southern border, and requesting information on the guns these Americans own. Wanting to know how many guns, what type of guns, the serial numbers on the guns, etc., and even trying to inspect the homes of these people.

I also see that BHO will chair the U.N. Security Council during its next session. The first American President that will do so.

I also read today, that the BHO lapdog congress is trying to pass a bill that will fine any American citizen up to $3800 if they fail to have medical insurance, thus, in my opinion, will force those who cannot afford private insurance to sign up for the BHO run socialist government health care plan.

I think BHO got rid of Van Jones only because he was too vocal and too outspoken (such as his televised remark about Republicans being "a**holes"), and he was bringing too much heat on BHO and his congressional lapdogs. Like all anti-American subversives, BHO and his lapdogs prefer to work away from the prying eyes of those they are trying to conquer and destroy. And there are many, many more "Van Jones" types in the current administration, that will continue to work quietly to undermine traditional American values, and destroy this country.

    Well, there's my two-bits worth.

"I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to other people and I require the same from them" It may be time worn, but it's the best life-creed I know.

  • This fellow Warren E. Buffet is one who may be more responsible for the condition America is in than Bush or Obama. He goes on TV because he is the expert and warns of doom. Americans run to do as he has spoken to do. Stocks crash and he cries about losing 25 billion, when in the long run he will make many times that.http://finance.yahoo.com/banki…calculating-his-bets.html
The worst part it will be with the Government's and most of Americas blessing. He told the Gov't what to do and then invested in the areas that he spoke about. If that does not rank up with insider trading I do not know what does. Politicians irritate me, but the rich who act above it all really get under my skin. There is a reason for the Bible verse that it is harder for a camel to go through an eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

  • The story of our lives.

The question is - when are we gonna get a belly full of this crap and put a stop to it?

I think they are anticipating us getting a belly full of their crap, and they are now taking steps to prevent us from putting a stop to it.

And by the way Stumpy, you can be sheriff of any town I live in. At least I know my family and I will be safe. Can I be your deputy?

  • acorn now has a new scandal. Also, because FOX seems to be the only news station publicising said scandal-well, apparently two acorn idiots have now been fired.

I never heard of that lousy Org untill this sucker of a Fuhrer called: obamalama ding dong, came along. Mind you, if O.L.D.D. is too harsh of a term to use on this site for said Fuhrer-who has "Teeth" as its vice pres, I humbly apoligise and will use the term Jethrobama Bodine instead ;-))

Anyway, acor seems to condone prositution and such as according to the two women shown in that video telling such in their own words. One wonders though, even that they were their own undoing-I just wonder how long it will take both of them to start crying foul, and also to blame Glen Beck, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity and Greata Van Sustern-for their firings? It certainly didnt take that idiot van jones to start pointing its fingers at Beck.

All I can say is, I CANT wait till the midterm elections happen and I do believe that the Reps willagain be in the lead. I sure hope so so also that that bug-eyed thing called nancy pelosi-will no longer be third in command.

  • [INDENT]The Ant and the Grasshopper!

This one is a little different...
Two Different Versions! ................. Two Different Morals!

OLD VERSION: The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.

The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!

    MODERN VERSION:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving.

CBS, NBC , PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food.

America is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprahwith the grasshopper and everybody cries when they sing, 'It's Not Easy Being Green.'

Acorn stages a demonstration in front of the ant 's house where the news stations film the group singing, 'We shall overcome.' Rev. Jeremiah Wright then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's sake.

Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back ofthe grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer.

The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government Green Czar.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ants food while the government house he is in, which just happens to be the ant's old house, crumbles around him because he doesn't maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow.

The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.

  • These are definitely my kind of people. Maybe I'll move.

    God Bless the South!

I spent 20 years in the Navy and the vast majority of my close friends were all Southerners. They are all good fighters and aren't afraid to tell it like it is. I wouldn't go into a war without them at my side.

I ran into ACORN during last years election. I knew that they were shady but I didn't know how shady until later. They were rightly accused of fraudulent voter registration in Philadelphia but they just got a slap on the wrist.

The two videos now being shown on FoxNews are serious accusations for it shows them misusing government funds, not only to set up a brothel for prostitution, but to smuggle in sex-slaves from Ecuador and minor children at that.

I read recently that the Census Bureau has now officially cut ties to ACORN and that members of Congress are asking for inquiries into their activities.

I wonder how much longer the Obama Administration is going to cover for these thieves?
